Modern approaches to modeling in vivo degenerative spine diseases

چکیده
Every year, more and people suffer from illnesses disabilities that occur due to lumbar pain. Many studies, someof use in-vivo models, are conducted decrease the socioeconomic impact of consequences degenerative spinediseases. Objective. To evaluate advantages disadvantages different in vivo models used study mechanisms development disturbances spinal motion segments test prospective methods treating them. Methods. A search was PubMed, Google Scholar, Base scientific databases with following key words: Spinal Diseases, Spine Disorder, Intervertebral Disc Degeneration (Repair), Facet Joint Animal Model, (Zygapophyseal) Osteoarthritis, Canine (dog), Swine (Pig), Ovine (sheep), Rabbit, Rat, Mice. The depth 10 years. Results. Rodents, pigs, goats, dogs, sheep, primates approaches. Studies on larger animals their similarities size, anatomy, biomechanics, histological structure vertebrae intervertebral discs humans. Models using dogs alpacas specifically interest because natural age-related degradation discs. However, experiments large restricted by high costs bioethics regulations. rabbits, rats, mice is promising. For these animals, spine modeled creating traumatic injuries (disturbing integrity facet joints, endplates, annulus fibrosus, nucleus pulposus, nucleotomy, discectomy) or injection chemical agents. Conclusions. rodents instead model diseases treatment include relative ease reproducibility experiments, economic ethical viability. should be chosen carefully according aims study.

Construction of Aged Patient Spine Database with Degenerative Diseases
As our society gets aging, degenerative spinal diseases and related surgical procedures will increase exponentially. To prevent unnecessary spinal surgery and support scientific diagnosis of spinal diseases and systematic prediction of treatment effects, we introduce e-spine, which is a computerized simulation model of human spines. As background data for realizing e-spine, we present aged pati...
متن کاملModeling Neurodegenerative Diseases in vivo
Neurodegenerative diseases are responsible for agonizing symptoms that take their toll on the fragile human life. Aberrant protein processing and accumulation are considered to be the culprits of many classical neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, tauopathies, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, hereditary spastic paraplegia and various polyglutamine diseases....
متن کاملClinical Approaches of Retinal Diseases in Pregnancy
Pregnancy leads to significant changes in the body, which potentially affect the retina. Pregnancy can induce disease such as that seen in hypertensive retinopathy and choroidopathy. It can cause exudative retinal detachments in the HELLP syndrome (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets), disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), ...
متن کاملTypes and Prevalence of Coexisting Spine Lesions on Whole Spine Sagittal MR Images in Surgical Degenerative Spinal Diseases
PURPOSE We investigated types and prevalence of coexisting lesions found on whole spine sagittal T2-weighted images (WSST2I) acquired from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and evaluated their clinical significance in surgical degenerative spinal diseases. MATERIALS AND METHODS Coexisting spinal lesions were investigated using WSST2I from 306 consecutive patients with surgical degenerative spi...
